Suzanne's Old Fashioned Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Ingredients

cups
pumpkin puree
1½
cups
heavy cream
or 1 12 oz can of evaporated milk
½
cup
dark brown sugar
packed
⅓
cup
white sugar
½
tsp
salt
2
eggs
1
egg yolk
2
tsp
cinnamon
1
tsp
ground ginger
¼
tsp
ground nutmeg
¼
tsp
cardamom
½
tsp
lemon zest
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425°.
Mix sugars, salt, spices and lemon zest in a large bowl.
In a separate small bowl, beat the eggs and add to the large bowl.
Stir in the pumpkin puree.
Stir in heavy cream
Whisk all together until well imcorporated.
Pour into an unbaked pie shell.
Bake at 425° for 15 min. Reduce temp to 350° and bake for another 40-50 min. or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
Notes
Jontana doesn't normally like pumpkin pies. He go this recipe on his mission and said he loved it!
