Ingredients
3 scant
cups
flour
1 heaping
cup
shortening
1
Tbsp
Salt
1
egg
beaten
1
tsp
vinegar
5
Tbsp
water
Instructions
Combine into bowl the flour shortening and salt. Using a pastry knife (or just your hands) cut shortening into flour and salt mixture.
In separate bowl combine (I use a large glass measuring cup) the beaten egg, vinegar, and water.
Mix the liquid into the flour mixture and then divide into half and roll out on floured board.
Makes enough for a double crust 9" pie.
Notes
I have tried other pie crust recipes and they were always too hard to handle. This makes a great tasting crust and is easier to handle.
