Marjean Thornock's Oatmeal Cake

Ingredients

cup
boiling water

cup
quick oatmeal
½
cup
butter
1
cup
sugar
1
cup
packed brown sugar
3
eggs
1½
cup
flour

Tbsp
soda
1
Tbsp
cinnamon
½
Tbsp
salt
Frosting:
½
cup
butter
1
cup
packed brown sugar
4
Tbsp
canned milk
1
cup
coconut
½
cup
chopped nuts
Instructions
Pour hot water over oatmeal and set aside
Cream together butter, sugars and eggs.
Sift flour, soda, cinnamon & salt
Add oatmeal to sugar mixture, and then add flour mixture. Mix well. Pour into greased 13x9 pan and bake at 350° for 30-35 min.
Frosting:
In a saucepan combine butter, sugar and canned milk. mix together and boil for 1 min.
Add coconut and nut.
Spread over hot cake.
