Ingredients
½
cup
shortening
¼
cup
butter
1
cup
brown sugar
packed
1
egg
¼
cup
molasses
2 ¼
cups
flour
2
tsp
soda
1
tsp
cinnmon
1
tsp
ginger
½
tsp
cloves
¼
tsp
salt

Tbsp
Sugar
Instructions
Cream together shortening, butter, brown sugar, egg & molasses. minutes.
Blend in remaining ingredients except 2 Tbsp. Sugar.
Chill dough for 1 hour.
Form into balls, roll in sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 9 to 10 minutes
Notes
This is Grandpa Lybbert’s favorite cookie. I like mine soft and chewy…if you want them crisp then just bake them a little longer
