German Chocolate Cake Icing

- 1½ cups evaporated milk
- 5 beaten egg yolks
- ¾ cup butter
- 1½ cup sugar
- 1½ cups pecans
- 1½ cups shredded coconut
- 1 tsp vanilla
Combine in a 2 qt. sauce pan: milk, egg yolks, butter and sugar. Bring to a boil and boil until it thickens
Add chopped pecans, coconut and vanilla.
Allow frosting to cool, spread over cooled cake.
