Buttermilk Syrup

Ingredients
½
cup
butter
1
cup
sugar
½
cup
buttermilk
1
tsp
vanilla
1
tsp
soda
Instructions
In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt and brown the butter.
Whisk in the sugar and buttermilk.
Stir until it starts to boil and boil for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
Remove from heat and add vanilla and soda.
Notes
Browning the butter gives this syrup a caramel flavor. Super yummy on my Overnight Sourdough Waffles or anything including ice cream.
