Red Cabbage (Danish Version)

Ingredients

  • 1 head Red cabbage
  • 1 cup butter (not margarine)
  • ⅔-1 cup sugar depending on how large your head of cabbage is
  • ¼ cup vinegar

Instructions

  • This recipe depends on the size of the cabbage so it will be important for you to adjust the sugar and vinegar accordingly.
  • It takes at least an hour or more to cook it down, it's a long and slow process. Don't cover the pot with a lid.
  • Boil for approx. 3 minutes then turn burner down to simmer.
  • let it simmer for at least an hour or more. The cabbage should be very soft and limp
