Ginger Snaps
Ingredients
- ½ cup shortening
- ¼ cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup molasses
- 2 ¼ cups flour
- 2 tsp soda
- 1 tsp cinnmon
- 1 tsp ginger
- ½ tsp cloves
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
Instructions
- Cream together shortening, butter, brown sugar, egg & molasses. minutes.
- Blend in remaining ingredients except 2 Tbsp. Sugar.
- Chill dough for 1 hour.
- Form into balls, roll in sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 9 to 10 minutes
Notes
This is Grandpa Lybbert’s favorite cookie. I like mine soft and chewy…if you want them crisp then just bake them a little longer
