Thanksgiving Stuffing (crockpot method)

Ingredients

  • 12 cups bread torn up small
  • 3 cups celery chopped
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • ¾ cup butter
  • 1 Tbsp poultry seasoning
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp thyme
  • ½ cup drained cranberries
  • ½ cup slivered almonds or broken pecans
  • 12 oz low fat sausage
  • 1 egg well blended
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms optional
  • 1 cup chicken broth

Instructions

  • Saute onions, celery & mushrooms in ¾ c butter. 
  • Brown sausage. 
  • Combine & mix lightly all ingredients. 
  • Put in a crockpot on high for 45 min. 
  • After 45 min. turn to low and cook for 4-8 hrs.
