Pie Crust
Ingredients
- 3 scant cups flour
- 1 heaping cup shortening
- 1 Tbsp Salt
- 1 egg beaten
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 5 Tbsp water
Instructions
- Combine into bowl the flour shortening and salt. Using a pastry knife (or just your hands) cut shortening into flour and salt mixture.
- In separate bowl combine (I use a large glass measuring cup) the beaten egg, vinegar, and water.
- Mix the liquid into the flour mixture and then divide into half and roll out on floured board.
- Makes enough for a double crust 9" pie.
Notes
I have tried other pie crust recipes and they were always too hard to handle. This makes a great tasting crust and is easier to handle.
