Cabbage Salsa (or Salad)

Ingredients

Sauce:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ¾ cup cider vinegar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil or olive oil
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Salad:

  • 1 head green cabbage finely chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper finely chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions finely chopped
  • 1 bunch cilantro finely chopped

Instructions

  • Soak all the vegetables in a mixture of white vinegar & water.
  • After it has soaked for about 30 min. Chop finely with a knife
  • For the Sauce: gently boil the sugar and vinegar for 5 min. then cool
  • Add remaining ingredients.
  • Make sure it is cool before adding it to the greens. Don't add sauce to greens until ready to eat.
