Poppy Seed Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1 1/2 tsp butter flavoring

Glaze

  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp butter flavoring

Instructions

Bread Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325 and grease 2 loaf pans
  • Mix all ingredients together and pour into pans
  • Bake at 325 for 1 hour or until toothpick comes out clean.

Glaze Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients together in sauce pan and cook on low heat until sugar dissolves
  • Drizzle on top of baked loafs while still in pan and allow to cool (in pan)
