Oatmeal Carmelitas

Ingredients

  • 2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 2 cup quick oatmeal
  • ½ cup chopped pecans if desired
  • cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • cup caramel ice cream topping Mrs. Richardson's is the best and I use the whole jar. YUM!

Instructions

  • Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, soda, salt and butter.  Blend well at low speed to form crumbs.  Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 13×9” pan.
  • Bake @ 350 for 10 mins.  Remove from the oven. 
  • Sprinkle it with chocolate chips and pecans.  Pour caramel back and forth over chocolate till covered.  Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. 
  • Bake for 15 – 20 mins or until golden brown
