Oatmeal Carmelitas

- 2 cup flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 2 cup quick oatmeal
- ½ cup chopped pecans if desired
- 1½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 cup butter softened
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1½ cup caramel ice cream topping Mrs. Richardson's is the best and I use the whole jar. YUM!
Instructions
- Combine flour, oats, brown sugar, soda, salt and butter. Blend well at low speed to form crumbs. Press half of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 13×9” pan.
- Bake @ 350 for 10 mins. Remove from the oven.
- Sprinkle it with chocolate chips and pecans. Pour caramel back and forth over chocolate till covered. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
- Bake for 15 – 20 mins or until golden brown
