My Favorite Sugar Cookie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup soft butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1½ tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3½ cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Instructions

  • In large mixing bowl, cream together butter & cream cheese. 
  • Add sugar and beat till fluffy. 
  • Add egg, vanilla, & extract.  Beat till smooth. 
  • Stir together flour & baking powder.  Add to creamed mixture & mix thoroughly. 
  • Chill dough for 1 hour. 
  • Roll out on lightly floured surface, cut into shapes and bake on ungreased sheet at 375 for 8 to 10 minutes.
