Place milk sugar, salt, and butter in small saucepan.
Heat over low heat until butter melts and sugar dissolves.
Cool to lukewarm.
Dissolve yeast in warm water .
Add lukewarm milk mixture and 4 ½ c flour.
Mix with dough hook for about 1 minute.
(or knead by hand adding ½ c flour at a time for 10 -15 min until soft and supple. Don’t’ add too much flour as this will make a dry bread)
If using dough hook, add ½ c flour at a time adding just enough that the dough clings to the hook.
Knead for 5 -6 min
Place dough in greased bowl, turning to grease top. Cover and let rise for about 15 min.
Divide dough in half and shape into French bread shaped loaves and place on jelly roll pans.
With sharp knife slice ½ inch cut down center of each loaf.
Melt some butter and pour down the center cut of each loaf.
Sprinkle with Johnny’s season salt and Johnny’s garlic salt.
Bake @ 350 for 25 min or until golden brown
