Harker’s FUDGY OATMEAL BARS
An Apple Crate Deli Favorite

Ingredients
Crust/Topping
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 teas vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teas baking soda
- 1/2 teas salt
- 3 cups oats (quick or regular)
Filling
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 cup chopped nuts
- 1 teas vanilla
- 1/2 teas salt
Instructions
Crust/topping
- Mix brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla in large bowl. Stir in flour, soda and salt. Add oats and mix well. Reserve 1/3 of oatmeal mixture for topping. Press remaining oatmeal mixture into GREASED cookie sheet.
Filling
- Heat chocolate chips, milk,and butter in saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly until chips are melted. Remove from heat and add nuts, vanilla and salt. Spread over oatmeal mixture in pan. Drop reserved mixture by spoonful onto choc filling.Bake at 350F until golden brown. 25-30 minutes. Cut into bars while STILL WARM!ENJOY!
