Chocolate Pudding Cake

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 Tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • cup hot water
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup nuts optional

Instructions

  • Combine flour, baking powder, salt, white sugar and 2 Tbsp cocoa directly into ungreased 9×9 pan and mix with fork.
  • If using nuts, stir in.
  • Stir in milk and butter and blend well. Spread out evenly in pan.
  • Sprinkle top with mixture of brown sugar and ¼ cup cocoa. DO NOT STIR
  • Pour hot water over entire batter and bake at 350° for 40 min.
  • Let stand for 15 min. Serve with Ice cream.

Notes

This was always Ben’s request for his birthday dinner. The water, brown sugar and cocoa somehow end up on the bottom of the cake in a yumy, yummy hot pudding-Alane.
