Chewy Chex

Ingredients

  • 17.5 oz box of any kind of Chex
  • cup Karo syrup (the clear one)
  • 1 cup butter
  • cup sugar
  • tsp Vanilla

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine syrup, sugar & butter and bring them to a rolling boil stirring constantly.  Boil hard for 2 minutes.  Remove from heat & add vanilla.  Pour over cereal.  Turn mixture onto waxed paper and allow to dry. 
  • Then you can sprinkle nuts, coconut, and choc. chips, M& M’s or whatever to it.  If you’re adding something choc. make sure it’s cooled first.  At Christmas, I sprinkle the Christmas sprinkles over it to make it more festive.
