Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 cups apples grated and do not need to peel
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ½ cup oil
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp soda

Sauce:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup cream
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla

Instructions

  • Mix apples, sugar, oil, eggs and vanilla.
  • In separate bowl, sift flour, cinnamon, soda and salt.
  • Pour dry ingredients over wet and mix.
  • Pour into greased 9×13 cake pan
  • Bake at 325° for 40 min.

Sauce for Apple Cake:

  • Combine all ingredients for the sauce, except vanilla, into a saucepan and cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved into a light sauce.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla.
