Alane’s Buttermilk Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions

  • In a 2 qt saucepan, melt butter on the stove (I like to brown mine but you don't have to).
  • Add sugar and buttermilk and bring to a boil for about 1 minute.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla and soda (it will bubble up which is why you need a 2 quart saucepan).
  • Use on pancakes, waffles, and ice cream!!!!
