John’s Crock Pot Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 5 lb bag of potatoes (John used #10's)
  • 1 pkg cream cheese
  • 8 to 12 oz sour cream
  • ½-1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp onion powder (must be onion powder, not garlic) Optional
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 cup butter

Instructions

  • Peel potatoes (John left skins on), cut in quarters,
  • Place in large pot. Cover with water
  • boil until a fork goes through easily (but not too mushy),
  • drain,
  • add cream cheese, sour cream, salt, onion powder, mix with hand mixer,
  • taste to see if there is enough salt and onion powder (add more a little at a time if needed)
  • add egg white, mix.
  • If not creamy enough, add more sour cream. NO MILK IS ADDED TO THIS RECIPE!
  • Put in fridge until ready to put in crock pot.
  • spray crock pot with pam,
  • put in crock pot 2 hours before serving,
  • crock pot on low, stir only once, add pats of butter.
