Sugar Cookies and Frosting

Ingredients

Cookie:

  • cup sugar
  • 1 cup margarine softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 5 cups flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Frosting:

  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • 1 Tbsp evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • tsp salt
  • 1 lb powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Cream sugar, margarine, vanilla, and eggs. 
  • Add sour cream. 
  • Mix dry ingredients together.  Add them to egg mixture.  Chill one hour. 
  • Roll out on a floured surface(not powdered sugared surface).  Roll to ¼ inch thick.  Cut out cookies. 
  • Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 375 for 10 – 12 minutes.  Cool and frost.

Frosting:

  • Mix cream cheese and milk until smooth.  Add vanilla, salt, and powdered sugar.  Beat until blended.  Color as you like.
