Mom’s Sunday Roast

Ingredients

  • Good sized roast
  • Lipton Onion Soup Mix

Instructions

  • Place thawed roast in a large pot (that can go into the oven).  Sprinkle 1 pkg of lipton onion soup mix over the top and just enough water to wash it off a little.  You can even slice a real onion to add to it, if you like onions.  This is also great using a cream soup (mushroom, onion, golden mushroom, etc.) instead of water.
  • To Bake in oven:  Cover pot with lid.  Bake at 325º for 3 hrs.
  • Crock pot:  Cook on low for about 4 to 6 hours.
  • Roast Beef Gravy:
  • Take the drippings from your roast.  Place in a small sauce pan.  Bring to a boil.  Add thickener to it.  You can add a little water if it is real strong.  Or you can add a beef bouillon cube if it is too weak.
