Sweet and Sour Meatballs

Ingredients

Meatballs:

  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp onion chopped
  • 2 Tbsp milk
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 lb hamburger
  • ½-1 cup bread crumbs

Sauce:

  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp corn starch
  • 1 can pineapple tidbits drained
  • reserved pineapple juice from can
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce

Instructions

Meatballs:

  • Mix meatball ingredients well, roll into balls and brown in skillet. Add 1 chopped green pepper and ⅓ – ½ c flour.  Mix into browned meatballs.  Add water to make a gravy.  Let simmer until thick, stirring occasionally.

In saucepan:

  • Combine all sauce ingredients. Cook until thick, will turn to a clear glaze look, pour over cooked meatballs and add pineapple.
  • Serve with fried rice.
