Gpa’s Bacon Wrapped Smokies

Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon
  • 1 lb beef smokies
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 cups brown sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven 375 degrees.
  • Cut bacon into thirds and wrap each smokie.
  • Place all wrapped smokies in single layer of deep baking dish.
  • Melt butter. Add 1 cup brown sugar to melted butter and mix well
  • Pour butter/sugar mixture over smokies. Sprinkle remaining cup of brown sugar over smokies.
  • Bake in over for 15-20 minutes.
  • Turn heat up to 400 degrees and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Cook longer if necessary to crisp bacon.
