Quick Barbecue Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • ¼ cup cooking oil
  • 1 8 oz. can tomato sauce
  • ½ cup water omit for thicker sauce
  • ¼ cup lemon juice bottled
  • ¼ cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp prepared mustard
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Instructions

  • Cook onion in cooking oil until onions are soft.
  • Add remaining ingredients and simmer 15 min. 
  • This is great on burgers, steak. 
  • For chicken: fry chicken parts in covered casserole dish about 15 min.
  • pour sauce over chicken and cover,
  • cook over low heat or simmer 30 min. or so
